Why We Do It.

Our vision is for young adults with learning disabilities & difficulties to be able to work and thrive in life.

With 1 in 7 individuals in the UK being neurodivergent, the concerning disparity in employment rates is alarming. Only 31% of those with a neurodiversity condition are currently employed, compared to 54.7% of disabled individuals overall. This stark contrast is further highlighted by the fact that eight in ten non-disabled individuals are not only employed but also earn significantly more than their disabled counterparts.

We firmly believe that every neurodivergent person should have the opportunity to explore, develop, and flourish in their chosen careers. However, for the 69% of neurodivergent adults, totalling approximately 6.486 million people in the UK, the journey after an educational system that was ill-equipped to adequately support them may lead to further struggles in an employment system also ill-equipped to meet their needs. This reality can breed feelings of anxiety, fear, and desperation, underscoring the critical need for comprehensive support for young neurodivergent individuals in our society.

Only 31% of people with a neurodiversity condition in employment in the United Kingdom.

Neurodivergent individuals are at a higher risk for mental health issues compared to neurotypical individuals.

“It is possible that around half of individuals entering prison may have a neurodivergent condition”. (GOV.UK)

If we do not take action, there is a possibility that these statistics may only deteriorate. The neurodivergent community faces a reduced life span of up to 12 years compared to neurotypical individuals. It is plausible to propose that inadequacies in the educational and employment systems, coupled with resulting stressors, may be contributing to this disparity. We are here to empower young neurodiverse individuals and provide them with the opportunities they deserve for a fulfilling life, starting with a successful career.

What We Do

Our charity is dedicated to supporting individuals with neurodiversity in their transition from education to employment by offering vital resources and support for personal and professional development.

We provide phone and email support, as well as facilitate direct connections between these individuals and employers through our website.

Additionally, we offer resources tailored to their unique needs. Our community promotes collaboration, support, and shared experiences, empowering individuals to thrive.
